Tumblr is the offbeat, indie photo blog site that quickly took over the blogosphere back in the mid-00s. It's finally landed onto the mobile space by adding an official Android app. Providing you with the perfect way to follow creators and upload your own content onto your Tumblr page right from your phone.

Mostly about sharing cool stuff you found on the web, you can repost content found almost anywhere or upload your own original creations including written word posts, photographs, videos or music tracks directly onto Tumblr. You can also link any of your Tumblr content to your external blog by linking it.

Another side feature is the social aspect of this app. Tumblr for Android will automatically detect which of your contacts are on Tumblr. Easily add them to your followers or follow them yourself. Conversely, if you're not really into their posts you can just opt to ignore them as well.

As always, sending private messages to other users is easy, as is checking how many likes your latest post has garnered and viewing any comments or reposts accrued.

Tumblr is a fine app for blogging. It does come with a few setbacks, though. But if you're active on Tumblr, you'd be remiss to not give it a try. In all honesty, Tumblr originated as a desktop browser based site, and it is still at its best viewed from a larger format. That said, if you're looking to get real-time notifications on the latest comings and goings on your Tumblr page, this app will do just the trick quick and easy.

How to download content from Tumblr

One of the most relevant social networks of the last decade is Tumblr. This blog space is a hodgepodge of content where anything goes: video, microblogging, images, text, audio ... a countercultral space that's been a refuge for posts that probably wouldn't have otherwise fit in with the rest of the social networks of the world. And sadly, it seems that its era is coming to an end, like what happened to Myspace back in the day. In fact, Tumblr just announced that they're eliminating all content containing pornographic images of any nature. Given that most of the popular blog site is based on providing this service, it's pretty clear that their immediate future is on the line. For this reason, we've gathered a couple different ways to download content from Tumblr blogs so it's not lost forever.

Tumblr now includes stickers and filters in its app

So apparently the new rule for all apps where images play a big role is that they've all gotta have stickers, amirite? At least that's what it looks like from the latest updates to the WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook Messenger apps. The latest big name to jump on this bandwagon is Tumblr: now you can enjoy stickers and filters from its Android app.
